In the early 1990’s Dr. Anthony Smit and his wife Bronwyn Roberts became the business owners of what was originally called Hauraki Plains Health Centre. In 2021 the directors of Health Te Aroha brought the practice and started extensive renovations to the building. Health Ngatea has become a sister clinic to Health Te Aroha with clinicians working between the two clinics. Health Ngatea is located in the middle of the rural township of Ngatea, and have a current patient base of approximately 4215 people. A large demographic of our population are dairy farmers and their families, retirees and those who wish to enjoy the benefits of living rurally. As a modern Practice, we have a highly skilled Team of Doctors, Nurse Practitioners, Physician Associates; Nurse Prescribers and Medical Care Assistants.
